Part 1: Personal Anointing
The principle of honor is central to the Kingdom of God. To honor is to value, esteem, and give weight to someone or something in our lives. As 1 Peter 2:17 teaches, we are called to “Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” This reflects God’s desire for His people to carry honor in every dimension of life: personal, relational, and corporate.
The first dimension, Personal Anointing, emphasizes our individual relationship with God. It is here that honor begins—with how we revere Him, honor His presence, and steward the unique calling He has placed on our lives. Scripture reminds us that “Those who honor Me I will honor” (1 Samuel 2:30).
We see this reflected in the life of Joshua, who lingered in the presence of God (Exodus 33:11) and honored both Moses and the people of Israel despite their unbelief. His personal honor and faith in God unlocked a powerful anointing for leadership and victory. Similarly, the woman with the issue of blood honored Jesus by touching His garment in faith, releasing the anointing that healed her (Mark 5:24-34).
In the Kingdom, personal honor releases personal anointing. As we honor God, we are equipped with the substance and strength to walk in His purpose for our lives. “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31). Honor is the key that opens the door to greater intimacy with Him and the anointing that flows from it. Will you choose honor today?
Part 2: Relational Anointing
The second dimension, Relational anointing, is rooted in the principle of honoring the relationships He has ordained in our lives.
From Moses and Joshua to Elijah and Elisha, the Bible reveals how honoring God-appointed relationships not only fosters personal growth but also advances His Kingdom. Joshua’s success as a leader was birthed through his faithfulness in serving Moses, while Elisha’s double portion was unlocked through his submission to Elijah’s leadership.
Relational anointing thrives in humility, service, and commitment. As Hebrews 13:17 teaches, “Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls… Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.” Honoring leaders and peers with God’s heart positions us to receive the spiritual blessings they carry.
In the Kingdom, relational anointing is about completing, not competing. It is through unity, mutual respect, and shared purpose that God’s power is magnified. By valuing relationships, we align ourselves with His design, allowing His Spirit to flow freely and bring transformation.
Part 3: Corporate Anointing:
The third dimension, Corporate anointing, is rooted in the principle of honoring the corporate body of Christ.
The corporate anointing flows from unity within the body of Christ. Just as the oil ran down Aaron’s beard to the edges of his garments (Psalm 133:1-3), so the anointing is released when the true Church understand the oneness found in Christ. The Church, built on Christ as the cornerstone, is God’s dwelling place (Ephesians 2:21-22).
To experience this anointing, we must honor God, His leaders, and one another. Unity is not something we create but something we guard (Ephesians 4:3). As we align with God’s design, the anointing flows, empowering us to fulfill His purposes on earth.
This teaching reminds us that relational and corporate honor are keys to releasing God’s Spirit in our lives and communities. Honor strengthens the body, glorifies God, and allows us to move in the fullness of His presence.
